Shifangyuan Organizational Profile
I. The induction / initiation
With the growing national ageing population, there’s urgency for professional hospice and spiritual care to the 40 million terminally ill. Shifangyuan believes spiritual and emotional comfort for those in need will enable them a full, positive life when facing death with dignity and peace as they walk the last mile of their life.
Glossary:
The terminally-ill refers to those who has given up treatment because of impediment or dementia and has been determined a life span of 10 months to 3 years or longer.
Hospice support is divided into four areas:
1. Medical care (palliative care)
2. Life care (life comfort care)
3. Social care (providing community support)
4. Spiritual care (mental, emotional and spiritual support)
II. Who we are
1. Shifangyuan stands for all Shifangyuan teams and centers of hospice and spiritual care in China. All Shifangyuan hospice and spiritual care centers are non-government organizations registered with the local Civil Affairs Bureau.
2. Shifangyuan is a school where volunteers and caregivers learn spiritual care.
3. Shifangyuan is a stage for self- grow and to excel.
4. Shifangyuan is a platform serving lives with love and companionship.
5. Shifangyuan is lifestyle fostering life care for lives.

1.To organize volunteers to provide professional spiritual care service for the elderly livings, hospitals, and community hospice facilities;
2.To sustain spiritual care training for volunteers and staff;
3.To collaborate with communities in need to form Shifangyuan teams to develop the community culture of "love and companionship";
4.To promote cultural activities in spreading Shifangyuan’s philosophy and culture of "love and companionship";
